How to Tie a Taekwondo Belt (Step-by-Step)

Here are a few easy steps that will help you know how to tie a taekwondo belt!

Step #1

Place one end of your belt on your stomach at the middle and hold on to it.

Step #2

Wrap the other end of the belt around your back and cross it over on top of the first end you held previously on your stomach. The belt will hold the first end of the belt now, as it would press the other end of the belt underneath it.

Step #3

Go around your back once more with the belt and bring the second end of the belt to your front. A little bit of long length over of the belt will be left dangling down from your waist. Hold on to the belt.

Step #4

Pull the first end of the belt so it evens out and is the same size as the second belt. They should hang down at the same distance at a rough estimate.

Step #5

Take the second end of the belt, the one wrapped around your body and put it on top of the first end of the belt. If you look down from your waist, the end of the belt would go towards the left. Next, push this belt end under all of the wraps of the belt from before, so it goes next to your uniform. Falling over your belt, the second end is left dangling down towards the middle.

Step #6

Take the first end of the belt and go to the second end of the belt. Look down towards your waist and the belt’s end would go left.

Step #7

Flip the first end of the belt over the second end of the belt. When looking downwards on your waist, it will go right and put the end through the loop or hole created by the two ends of the belt.

Step #8

Grab both the ends of the belt and pull them tight.

Alas! You now know how to tie a taekwondo belt!
